Sea flows, with revolting plastic,
Leaving litter is a nasty habit
Colliding waves CRASH! together like a car accident
Plastic, papers MORE rubbish animals are dying
digging for more oil
Let’s change the world

A lonely dog, longing for love
Leaping in a field, wishing at the sky above
She dreams of finding her kindred spirit, the one who is home
Later that day, someone would come who would fill her heart with joy
*Knock knock knock* as her heart fluttered like a butterfly
She was about to meet the person who is home
Walking through the door *creek* the excitement filling up
She was about to go somewhere, home
And we named her
Nyah.
A poor dog wishing for a family.
The lonely dog seeing her brothers and sisters getting adopted.
Hopefully that day would soon come.
Walking outside hoping that someone would see her.
Who is that a human.
A nice kind man with a lovely smile.
The day has come I’m all nice and safe.
Three nice kids to keep me happy.
I feel so warm like a nice lit fire.
This must be home.

Racism BANG it started in Jerusalem
When Jesus and his disciples opened up a Bible
The Mosiah that no one believed and now he’s walking through fire
Now in America with cops dripping with fire
Taking innocent lives on a daily basis
Is this how we wanna live?
Martin Luther King saying his last speech
I have a dream – it’s one to believe
Couple hours later, he was shot in the head,
dropped down to the ground bussing his head
slaughted, whipped and slayed
to the ground a tumble one.

Boom!
The entire world in lockdown,
No freedom people in quarantine like caged birds,
Time passing online with friends and family,
I can tell this corona isn’t really in a rush so have no fear,
To fade away
some said the vaccine isn’t gonna work
it’s tough sometimes,
People telling each other thousands of times they can’t go out,
People sitting at home
But now seeing that covid is crumbling,
Now that covid is leaving people can leave their home,
Freedom is being sung and harmony is humming
Magical music moves my mind,
All your worries will be left behind.
All this music is messing with me,
I just can’t stop dancing to the beat.
Music is a wonderful sound,
That will always be with you,
you can listen to it all year round,
Even if you got the flu!
I love my cat My cat loves me,
Shy as a mouse
Fierce as a loin,
Up the tree
Down the tree
Chasing me,
My cat’s a cover with so much fur,
He is marvellous
Magnificent Magical and Mischievous yet
Timid and Tiny,
Running marathons every day
deafening silence, pretty bad , definitely maybe,
pretty ugly, feeling numb, passive aggressive,
doing nothing, minor miracle, fatally injured,
day dreamer, inside out, cold sweat,
act naturally, blood wedding, critical condition,
all alone, bad luck, clear as mud
This half term, year 6 have been learning about suffragettes and their fight to gain the right to vote for women through the fantastic book ‘Suffragettes: The Battle for Equality’ by David Roberts. The children have been enthralled by the lengths that the women would go to in order to have their voices heard whilst being equally appalled by the awful treatment that the suffragists received from a society that wanted to retain the power for men.
Today, the children acted out a rally with rosettes in the colours of the suffragettes, posters with relevant slogans that they created and a lot of cheering and shouting. We hope you enjoy watching the speeches as much as the children enjoyed writing and performing them
