Good morning Venus,

I hope you all have had a good weekend.

Here is today’s schedule:

09:15-09:30: Log into our google meet. Say good morning to your classmates. As always, there will be early morning work to active those muscles in your grey matter. Today you will be looking at ‘Paint the Squares. You will need to access it online, so you will need to go onto the blog and open it, in a new window. It will test your timetables knowledge. If you finish before the register there will be another piece of early morning work for you to complete.

Paint The Squares

09:25-09:30: Register.

09:30-10:00: Together we’ll go through today’s work and discuss any issues. Once that’s clear, I will give you time to make sure all your links work and you are able to open the documents and videos. Also, you should take a look at the independent work and make sure you understand is expected of you.

Can I remind you all that no one should be in their pyjamas or in bed! This is a learning environment and I need you to take it as seriously as you do, when you are in class. There should, also, be no personal discussions via the chat unless advised to do so!

10:00-11:00: Live Online Lesson: LITERACY – RAINFORESTS – GEOGRAPHY

You will need a pen and lined paper.

You will begin to write your paragraphs for your Rainforest information booklet. The focus of this week, will be looking at the different ways in which you can start sentences. Be ready to pause the video at various points as instructed by the narrator. Remember it starts with a kind of “Five-a-day” to get your brain working. He’s quite quick to move on but you’ll need to show some independence and resilience here. Do not just watch the video passively through without engaging – you have the option to go back and see it again if you’re not sure.  Please make sure you do that if you are unsure. You will need pen and paper.

Today’s main worksheet Square Numbers

Today’s ‘support’ worksheet for those of you, who are finding the main sheet overly challenging Square Number Support

Remember to use your resilience if you are finding it tricky. You all can do this!

11:30 – This is also an opportunity for any of you who found yesterday’s work challenging to join Miss Warby’s room (epsvenus2). Please join after today’s Rainbow Assembly.

Thematic: KING ALFRED THE GREAT.

Today, you will be looking at a specific individual that lived during the Viking period. The individual that you will learning about today, is King Alfred the Great. King Alfred the Great was the King of Wessex. He was an Anglo-Saxon who lived from 871 -899 AD. He played a very important role in making peace between the Anglo-Saxons and the invading Danes.
