Good morning Venus,

Here is today’s schedule:

09:15-09:25: Say good morning to your class mates.  EMW –  two maths brain teasers for you.

10.02.21 EMW

09:25-09:30: Register.

09:30-10:00: We will go through today’s work and discuss any issues. You will, check all your links work and that you are able to open the documents and videos. It is your responsibility, to look at the independent work and make sure you understand is expected of you. Lastly, looking at today’s non screen activity task and kindness task.

Can I remind you all, that no one should be in their pyjamas or in bed! Everybody should also make sure that they have eaten their breakfast before the register is taken. This is a learning environment and you need to take it as seriously as you do, when you are in class. There should, also, be no personal discussions or spamming via the chat unless advised to do so!

10:00-11:00: Lesson 1 – Live Online: MATHS – Multiply 4 Digits by 1 Digit

Today, you will be building on the work you did yesterday, by multiplying 4 digits by 1 digit. We will, be looking at the thousands, hundreds, tens and ones columns. Come equipped, with your times table knowledge and the strategies that you have successfully used this week.

*LESSON 2:  LITERACY – Write A Diary Entry

Yesterday,  we  concentrated on the features of a diary. Today, you will be using all those exciting and interesting adjectives, verb phrases and adverbs, to write a diary entry from the perspective of Tristan. Be sure to use a plan and the success criteria to help you with your writing. It is important to do so, as you want your writing to be authentic as possible.

*LESSON 3 – SCIENCE: Understand The Effect that Levers Can Have On Force

Continuing with our forces topic, today you will looking at the effect that levers have on force. A lever allows people to do work using less force. A lever is used to usually move or lift objects, but not actually move them. There are 3 parts that make up a lever, they are: effort, fulcrum and load (resistance). You will be looking at this in more detail during the lesson.  This is another investigation and you all should be getting used to the terminology, used in investigations and how to complete the various parts of the investigation sheet.
