Good morning Venus,

Here is today’s schedule:

09:15-09:30: Log into our google meet. Say good morning to your classmates. As always, there will be early morning work to active those muscles in your grey matter. Today’s early morning work will be on the screen, ready and waiting for you to complete.

Paint The Squares

09:25-09:30: Register.

09:30-10:00: Together we’ll go through today’s work and discuss any issues. Once that’s clear, I will give you time to make sure all your links work and you are able to open the documents and videos. Also, you should take a look at the independent work and make sure you understand is expected of you. We will also look at todays’s non screen activity task and set today’s kindness task.

Can I remind you all that no one should be in their pyjamas or in bed! Everybody should also make sure that they have eaten their breakfast before the register is taken. The register is taken at 09:25. This is a learning environment and I need you to take it as seriously as you do, when you are in class. There should, also, be no personal discussions or spamming via the chat unless advised to do so!

10:00-11:00: Live Online Lesson 1: Forces – Gravity.

We’re exploring gravity more deeply this week and then looking into what happens when it’s in balance or imbalance with other forces. Before the session starts you’ll need to watch this introductory video about gravity on BBC.

Come prepared with some paper, a pencil, your noticing skills and an ability to do simple sketches as you’ll be asked to draw three diagrams relating to forces in action with each other.

11:00: Assembly (epsassembly3)

11:30: This is also an opportunity for any of you who found yesterday’s work challenging to join Miss Warby’s room (epsvenus2)

***INDEPENDENT LEARNING*** ***LESSONS 2 & 3***

11:00-14:15: During this time, you are expected, to complete the work for all three subjects, independently and upload it to the blog.

*LESSON 2 – Maths: Divide by 10, 100 & 1000 (Recap)

This week’s topic is division. Today you will be dividing by 10, 100, 1000. Division is splitting a number into equal parts or groups. Dividing can also be known as ‘sharing equally’.

You have done this in the past, so I am expecting, that a majority of you should feel confident in doing the independent work. Many of you may find that you finish the worksheet quite quickly. If that is the case, I want you to attempt the extension worksheet.

When watching the video, make sure to take any notes, if it will aid in your understanding of how to divide by 10. You can go back or pause the video as many times as you want!  When working out your calculations, use a place value grid to help aid your understanding. You will, as always, need pen and paper.

The digits will either move one, two or three places  to the right.

Today’s ‘support’ worksheet for those of you, who are finding the main sheet overly challenging Divide by 10, 100 & 1000 Support

The extension worksheet, if you manage to finish the main worksheet, dives deeper into Divide by 10, 100 & 1000 Extension

Remember to use your resilience if you are finding it tricky. You can all do this!

*LESSON 3 – Literacy – Counter Arguments – Deforestation.

Today, you will be looking at counter arguments, building on the work that you did yesterday.

What is a counter argument? You will need to know and understand what a counter argument is. It will be needed for your big write.
