LESSON 2 – www.charanga.com/yumu

Hi Year 5,

Here is your Jam-Bus Online Music Lesson from Mr Spoerer this week. Welcome to Jam-Bus Online and I hope you enjoy yourself today.

WALT – Singers: You are going to listen to the original Bob Dylan version of “Make you feel my love” and hear the different style he sings it than Adele.

You are then going to research Bob Dylan and why he is considered to be “The Greatest Song Writer of all time.”

Here is a video of Mr Spoerer to Explain what to do in this lesson:

Please make a Bob Dylan poster that gives some interesting facts about his life. You can use the Wiki site for the information:

Bob Dylan info

Or this Youtube video

Make sure you make some notes whilst you watch and read. Make sure you have at least 5 interesting facts about this historic songwriter. The more the better though. Will yours be the best one?

Also practice the Adele version to be prepared for your “online performance” in a few weeks.

Instrumentalists:

If you have an instrument at home like a glockenspiel or a keyboard, below are the links you’ll need to download the music scores to learn this song.

Make you feel my Love Score Easy Level 1

Make you feel my Love Score Medium Level 2

Make you feel my Love Score Melody Level 3

TASK 1: Log into Charanga.com/yumu using your log in and password. Watch Mr Spoerer’s video and he’ll explain it all.

TASK 2: Listen to Bob Dylan’s version of “Make you feel my love” and then create a poster on why Bob Dylan is considered “The Greatest songwriter of all time.”

Good morning Venus,

Here is today’s schedule:

09:15-09:30: Log into our google meet. Say good morning to your classmates. As always, there will be early morning work to active those muscles in your grey matter. Today’s early morning work will be on the screen, ready and waiting for you to complete.

09:25-09:30: Register.

09:30-10:00: Together we’ll go through today’s work and discuss any issues. Once that’s clear, I will give you time to make sure all your links work and you are able to open the documents and videos. Also, you should take a look at the independent work and make sure you understand is expected of you.

Can I remind you all that no one should be in their pyjamas or in bed! This is a learning environment and I need you to take it as seriously as you do, when you are in class. There should, also, be no personal discussions or spamming via the chat unless advised to do so!

10:00-11:00: Live Online Lesson: Maths – MULTIPLY BY 10, 100 and 1000 (Recap)

Continuing with multiplication, today you will be multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000. You have done this in the past, so I am expecting, that a majority of you should feel confident in doing the independent work. Again, some of you may find that you finish the worksheet quite quickly. If that is the case, I want you to attempt the extension worksheet.

When watching the video, make sure to take any notes, if it will aid in your understanding of how to multiply by 100. You can go back or pause the video as many times as you want! You will, as always, need pen and paper.

Remember:

When multiplying by 10, the digits move, one spaces to the left (the zero fills the empty space).

When multiplying by 100, the digits move, two spaces to the left (the zero fills the empty space).

When multiplying by 100-, the digits move, three spaces to the left (the zero fills the empty space).

Today’s main worksheet Multiply by 10 100 1000

Today’s ‘support’ worksheet for those of you, who are finding the main sheet overly challenging Multiply by 10 100 1000 Support

The extension worksheet, if you manage to finish the main worksheet, dives deeper into Multiplying by 10 100 1000

Remember to use your resilience if you are finding it tricky. You can all do this!

11:30: This is also an opportunity for any of you who found yesterday’s work challenging to join Miss Warby’s room (epsvenus2)

***INDEPENDENT LEARNING***

11:00-14:15: During this time, you are expected, to complete the work for all three subjects, independently and upload it to the blog.

Literacy: RAINFORESTS – People

You will need a pen, lined paper and any notes you made pertaining to people that live in the rainforests.

You are to continue to write your paragraphs for your rainforest information booklet. Today we will be looking at People of the Rainforests.  This will form the final section of your information booklet (non-fiction text).

The focus of this week, is looking at the different ways in which you can start sentences. Remember, this will make your writing even more interesting.
