Good morning Venus,

It’s World Book Day!!! A day where children all around the UK celebrate the wonders of readings. I look forward to seeing which characters you dress up as!!

It is also, our very last day ever, of online learning before returning to school on Monday.

Here is today’s schedule:

09:15-09:25: Say good morning to your class mates. EMW.

09:25-09:30: Register.

09:30-10:00: We will go through today’s work, discuss any issues, check all your links work and that you are able to open the documents and videos. It is your responsibility, to look at the independent work and make sure you understand is expected of you. Lastly, looking at today’s:

Non screen Activity Task – Exercise . 15 star jumps; 15 sit ups; 15 press ups and running on the spot for at least one minute – the longer the better. If you can go for a run, that’ll be even better!!!

Kindness Task – choose one of the poems and read to an adult/sibling.

Can I remind you all, that no one should be in their pyjamas or in bed! Everybody should also make sure that they have eaten their breakfast before the register is taken. This is a learning environment and you need to take it as seriously as you do, when you are in class. There should, also, be no personal discussions or spamming via the chat unless advised to do so!

10:00 – 11:00: Lesson 1 – Live Online: PSHE – Wellbeing

Today, we will be continuing with the lesson from Tuesday. I think it is really important that we all are able to know which strategies to use when feeling overwhelmed, whether it’s physically or mentally. Again, no worksheets, as you will be doing the work during the lessons. So, please, make sure that you are ready to participate – it is an interactive lesson!!!

11:00-14:15: During this time, you are expected, to complete the work for all three subjects, independently and upload it to the blog.

*LESSON 2: LITERACY – Write Your Story

There was no doubt about it, I would have to go back.

Today, you are going to start the writing of your 500 word story. Your opportunity to get your creative juices flowing. Your story will need a beginning, middle and end. You will need characters that you’ll need to describe, the settings and the weather also need to be described.

To be included are: expanded noun phrases, ambitious vocabulary, use of figurative language (similies, metaphors, alliteration, hyperbole etc), and show not tell.

*LESSON 3: I LOVE READING – World Book Day Edition

Read, the extracts below, followed by your own reading book. I would, like you (an adult or sibling) to take a picture of you reading in the most unusual place, you can find in your house or garden (if you have one). Post it on the blog and we can have a look at them during the afternoon Google Meet.  I would like you to spend at least 40 minutes reading in total.
