Good morning Venus,

Non Screen Day!!!

Here is today’s schedule:

09:15-09:25: Say good morning to your class mates. EMW.

09:25-09:30: Register.

09:30-10:00: We will go through your non screen activities, discuss any issues and you’ll write down the methods for making the play dough and the science experiments you will be carrying out. It is your responsibility, to make sure that you have written down your activities and the methods as I will not be posting anything other than this.

Can I remind you all, that no one should be in their pyjamas or in bed! Everybody should also make sure that they have eaten their breakfast before the register is taken. This is a learning environment and you need to take it as seriously as you do, when you are in class. There should, also, be no personal discussions or spamming via the chat unless advised to do so!

MUSIC WORK: The Venus Music Awards!

Hello Venus! This week I want to celebrate everyone who has been logging onto YUMU and joining in with the music activities I have been giving you. See below for the Jam-Bus Music Awards!

If you didn’t get a certificate today, it’s not too late! All you have to do it go back to lesson 1 & 2 where I have clearly explained how to log on and get busy. Ask an adult who lives with you for some help. I’d love to see the whole class involved.

Today, you will learning another strategy to help you, specifically when multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits. It is a bit like a multiplication grid, so it makes this another visual strategy. You may find that this is a concept that you may find challenging and that is okay but as always when it comes to your independent activity, do your best and try to push through.

Today,  you will be reading the rest of The Viewer and discussing its ending. It is quite a complex and mature ending to understand. There are many questions that have been left unanswered and you have the chance to answer them. It is up to you to write an alternative ending to The Viewer. This is your opportunity to be the author and dictate how The Viewer ends!!! You will need to show off all the skills you have learnt during this unit: interesting adjectives, verbs (phrases), adverbs, non-finite clauses and of course, show not tells, to make it a successful piece of write. Can you, use the questions at the end of the lesson, to help guide your writing?

*LESSON 3 – SCIENCE: Understand The Effect that Levers Can Have On Force

Continuing with our forces topic, today you will looking at the effect that levers have on force. A lever allows people to do work using less force. A lever is used to usually move or lift objects, but not actually move them. There are 3 parts that make up a lever, they are: effort, fulcrum and load (resistance). You will be looking at this in more detail during the lesson.  This is another investigation and you all should be getting used to the terminology, used in investigations and how to complete the various parts of the investigation sheet.
